One of the most criminally underrated and underappreciated slashers of the modern era is the Stewart Hendler-directedSorority Row (2009), Summit Entertainment’s glossy remake of the 1983 cult slasher The House on Sorority Row that starred Briana Evigan, Leah Pipes, Rumer Willis, Jamie Chung, Margo Harshman, and Audrina Patridge.
In the film, a killer threatens to expose the fatal secret binding a group of sorority sisters.
In the film’s climax, the killer is revealed to be Andy Richards (played by Julian Morris), the boyfriend of the protagonist, Cassidy. He is revealed to be the masked killer stalking the Theta Pi sorority sisters to punish them for their cruelty and the cover-up of Megan’s death. (wiki)
Now, on the heels of the 15th anniversary of the film, co-writer Josh Stolbergreveals that sequel news is coming “very very soon.”
A sequel was teased earlier last year, but it now sounds like real progress is being made on the next installment. The biggest questions remain: which studio will distribute the film, and whether Morris will return as the killer or someone new will be dishing out the punishment.
