are you ready for ‘undertone’ to make itself heard this friday? check out this final trailer to ensure you’re prepared…
A24 has dropped one final teaser for undertone ahead of the film’s theatrical release tomorrow, offering one last glimpse at the film’s unsettling sound-driven horror.
The audio nightmare is the debut feature of writer-director Ian Tuason, who shot the project inside his own childhood home in Toronto (represent!). Tuason is already lined up for his next genre assignment: directing the upcoming reboot of Paranormal Activity. We recently revelead that his update on the long-running franchise will be serious and aligned with the scares of his first film, out Friday.
Nina Kiri (The Handmaid’s Tale) is front and center as Evy, a paranormal podcast host who returns to her childhood home to care for her terminally ill mother. While settling in, she begins receiving eerie audio recordings sent by a pregnant woman who believes something supernatural is haunting her home…
The cast also includes Adam DiMarco (The White Lotus), Michèle Duquet (The Virgin Suicides), KeanaLyn Bastidas (The Hardy Boys), Jeff Yung (The Shrouds), and Ari Millen (Orphan Black).
In my 4-star review, I said that Ian Tuason’s “undertone uses sound and performance in perfect disharmony to craft a terrifying cinematic experience.”
