It’s Friday the 13th, and Peacock has just shared the first-ever look at Crystal Lake, its upcoming slasher series exploring the origins of Jason Voorhees from the famed Friday the 13th films.
Based on the slasher series begun by Sean S. Cunningham in 1980, “Crystal Lake” follows a doomed small town where camp counselors come to die.
The brand-new show stars Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees and includes earlier versions of characters from the original film, such as Crazy Ralph (Nick Cordileone), Claudette (Danielle Kotch) and Barry (Phoenix Parnevik) along with new characters connected to the town’s history.
“Crystal Lake” has also confirmed the presence of Jason as a child, with Callum Vinson cast as a young Jason Voorhees.
Crystal Lake is overseen by showrunner Brad Caleb Kane, who serves as writer and executive producer. Kane has also worked on the hit HBO prequel series It: Welcome to Derry.
At this moment, “Crystal Lake” is set to invite campers back sometime in 2026.
