Tubi is adapting a spooky teen classic: Remember Me, a 1989 YA novel by Christopher Pike, which is now getting a film adaptation via the platform, reports Variety.
Brec Bassinger (pictured in Final Destination Bloodlines) and Charlie Gillespie (Totally Killer, Sidelined 2: Intercepted) will star, with Match and Slumber Party Massacre director Danishka Esterhazy at the helm, which should be exciing news to horror fans.
Remember Me follows Shari Cooper (Bassinger), who is dead — after falling from the top of a high-rise to the street below. One of her friends is her killer. Now, she must solve her own murder from beyond the grave before a relentless, soul-sucking Shadow stalking her gets to her first.
Esterhazy is reteaming with Slumber Party Massacre writer Suzanne Keilly on the screenplay.
The film also stars Mila Rayne (Darby and the Dead), Phoebe Lyons (Watch Me Burn), Matthew Vey (Summertide), and Kealeboga Masango (Genesis).
“Christopher Pike’s ‘Remember Me’ became a rite of passage for a generation,” said Adam Lewinson, the chief content officer of Tubi. “A twisty, supernatural thriller that readers never forgot — and we’re excited to reimagine it for today’s audience.”
