DC’s Absolute Batman series is on fire right now, and aside from artist Dan Quintana, The Mann Boyz are delivering some of the most sought-after covers in the lineup.
After delivering all the buzz with the Chainsaw Man-inspired homage for their Absolute Batman #18 cover, Clay Mann’s exclusive variant cover for Absolute Batman #19 sold out in a fraction of a second. It is nearly impossible to get your hands on, unless you want to shell out a few hundred bucks on eBay.
The Mann Boyz covers are so hot that resellers are using bots to snatch up as many copies as they can, and, as you can see, they’ve been hitting the secondary market at absurd prices – some up to $600. The artists are doing everything they can to put books into the hands of both fans and collectors, but it’s no easy task.
With that said, Dread Central is excited to give away a copy of Absolute Batman #19, signed by Clay Mann. The drop was released by Clay Mann himself, and I secured a copy for our readers!
This issue is highly sought after for its striking homage to Death Note, reimagining Absolute Joker as Ryuk (yes, that’s Joker in this universe) and the first ever appearance of Absolute Scarecrow as Yagami. It is double-sided with a glow-in-the-dark spot foil!
The book is limited to just 1,000 copies, with an even smaller number of signed editions. I have one signed that will ship out to one lucky reader sometime in late April or early May.
