Final ‘Mortal Kombat II’ Trailer Brings All the Action… and the OG Soundtrack!

Warner Bros. is delivering a nostalgia fatality with the final trailer for Mortal Kombat II, an ass-kicking, nonstop action mixtape of footage, all underscored by the original film’s techno-fused soundtrack we all blasted in our cars back in 1995. It still rips.

Mortal Kombat II follows “the fan favorite champions — now joined by Johnny Cage (Karl Urban) himself — as they are pitted against one another in the ultimate battle to defeat the dark rule of Shao Kahn (Martyn Ford) that threatens the very existence of the Earthrealm and its defenders.”

The trailer really zeroes in on what’s at stake: planet Earth. Johnny Cage needs a drink… or two.

Simon McQuoid returns to direct from a script written by Jeremy Slater (Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire).

The film also stars Ludi Lin, Jessica McNamee, Joe Taslim, Hiroyuki Sanada, Adeline Rudolph, Tati Gabrielle, Josh Lawson, Tadanobu Asano, and CJ Bloomfield.

Tickers are on sale now for the tournament that begins in theaters on May 8.
