The sixth Insidious film is now titled Out of the Further and hits theaters August 21, 2026. A trailer arrives Monday.
The next Insidious film is coming at us real soon, and today we’ve got word that a new official title has been revealed. That’s right, after numerous changes, the sixth film is now set to be titled Insidious: Out of the Further.
The latest foray into spooky soundstage mayhem is hitting theaters August 21, 2026, and is once again set to star horror icon Lin Shaye for the sixth time. We are big Shaye fans here at Dread Central, so you can count us as being psyched for this new sequel.
But that’s not all, folks. The first trailer for Insidious: Out of the Further is now set to arrive on Monday April 13. Shaye stars alongside Amelia Eve (The Haunting of Bly Manor), Sam Spruell (Fargo), Brandon Perea (Nope), and Maisie Richardson-Sellers (Legends of Tomorrow).
Jacob Chase (Come Play) is helming this time around and is shooting from a screenplay co-written by Chase and underrated horror legend David Leslie Johnson-McGoldrick (Orphan).
The official premise reads: “A trio of stalkers infiltrate a quiet suburb and force a new family into the astral plane, where they uncover a terrifying truth: the Further is bleeding into the real world.”
The sixth chapter of the Insidious franchise was previously titled The Bleeding World, and it’s not the only Further film on the agenda. Years ago, we got news of a spin-off movie starring Mandy Moore titled THREAD: An Insidious Tale. No word if that movie is still happening or not. Time will tell…
