Greg Mottola a Frontrunner to Direct DC’s Deathstroke and Bane Movie!
Greg Mottola (“Peacemaker”) is reported to be a frontrunner to direct DC’s baddie combo Deathstroke and Bane movie.

Any fans of Deathstroke or Bane out there? Then you’ll want to listen up, because according to Deadline, Greg Mottola (“Peacemaker”) is in talks to direct a Deathstroke and Bane movie for DC Studios!
The outlet notes that the project is still very early in development, and there are others circling to direct. No script has been officially turned in just yet.
Rumors of the film first started circulating in 2024. According to Deadline, the initial script was penned by Matthew Orton, who wrote for the Marvel Studios/Disney+ series “Moon Knight”.
There have been many iterations of the Bane character created by Chuck Dixon, Doug Moench and Graham Nolan. On screen, he’s gone from a goofy goon in Batman & Robin to the lead villain in The Dark Knight Rises and a fan favorite on the “Harley Quinn” show.
As for super-soldier Deathstroke, he first appeared in Marv Wolfman’s The New Teen Titans #2 comic. Outside of numerous comics, he’s shown up in loads of television series and animated films, and was even in a post-credit sequence in Justice League that was supposed to set up a now cancelled Deathstroke origin movie.
Though there’s no word on whether the film would lean into horror or not, Bane makes for a perfect opportunity to do so. The comic series Absolute Batman proves as much, pulling from Akira and Tetsuo: The Iron Man with extreme body horror that has Bane injecting himself and growing larger and more monstrous.
With Clayface also leaning heavily into horror, we at Dread sure hope this film will do the same.
Stay tuned for more details on the project as it develops.
