Patton Oswalt has joined documentary feature In Search of Nosferatu as executive producer as the film heads to the Cannes Film Festival market, Dread Central learned today.
Directed by Alexandre O. Philippe (78/52, Leap of Faith: William Friedkin on The Exorcist, Chain Reactions) and produced by Terri Piñon, the project follows an obsessive filmmaker and a gifted archivist who can “hear” silent films as they search the world for surviving prints of Nosferatu in an effort to reconstruct and reinvent F. W. Murnau’s landmark vampire classic from multiple decayed versions.
Patton Oswalt, known for Ratatouille and The King of Queens, joins the project alongside co-producer Pablo Guisa, founder of the Mórbido Film Fest, with support from Fantastic Pavilion.
The film is currently in production as a global co-production between Mexico, the UK, Slovakia and France, with the team meeting sales agents, financiers and press throughout the Cannes market.
