The Bangkok-based production and distribution company Fearfolks has found Someone Special, acquiring world sales rights to the Thai-Chinese thriller, reports Variety.
In Someone Special, “a young painter crippled with deep-seated violent tendencies confronts his demons after an unexpected meeting with a therapist living one floor above him. The therapist conceals her own malignant vices behind smiles and warmth, and the two share secrets that neither is prepared for.”
This is why I don’t go to therapy. Actually, I probably should–I hear it’s good for you–but you never do know, I suppose…
Sirat Intarachote (4 Kings), Anyarin Terathananpat (The Djinn’s Curse), Ben Brown (Doctor Climax) and Fern Supanare (Deep) star.
Petong Sakulchai and Ariel Feng directed the film.
Producing are TV Pool Group and 100 Caruso.
Said Sakulchai, “The film explores emotional isolation, shame, trauma, self-worth, dependency and the tension between wanting to be loved and fearing being truly seen by another person. At its core, the film is about the struggle to continue living while carrying an inner reality that feels invisible to the outside world.”
Fearfolks also recently boarded the Indian paranormal horror film, Numinous.
