Production has begun on what sounds like an entertaining teen horror comedy, My Boyfriend Is a Demon, reports Deadline.
The film “follows Mary, a lonely, small-town girl who, in an effort to gain the acceptance and friendship of her peers, creates a “finsta” account for a nonexistent, seemingly perfect guy, appearing to be her boyfriend. After apparently manifesting a little too hard, her new beau suddenly shows up at her door.”
We really don’t discuss enough with teens the dangers of creating fake accounts and those accounts becoming real people. A real epidemic, I say.
The film features quite a few names familiar to genre fans, including Mattias Ferrell (A Very Jonas Christmas Movie), Bailey Sloan (Ragamuffin), Jack Champion (Avatar), Ever Anderson (Peter Pan & Wendy), Vinnie Hacker (Euphoria), Josephine Reitman, David Arquette (Scream), Rosanna Arquette (The Moment), Coco Arquette (Cougar Town), Savannah Lee Smith (Tinsel Town), Lisa Yamada (Elle), and Ty Law (Friday Night Lights) star.
mishka wrote and directed the film, marking her debut feature.
Producing are Chad Verdi Sr, Chad Verdi Jr, Paul Luba, Michelle Verdi and Sera Verdi for Verdi Productions. Ketchup Entertainment and Kinolime will exec produce.
