There’s a lot to unpack in the full trailer for Teenage Sex and Death at Camp Miasma, which looks poised to deliver yet another truly towering performance this year. Earlier in 2026, conversations around standout acting in horror were dominated by Inde Navarrette in Obsession and Kate O’Flynn in Widow’s Bay – and now it looks like Gillian Anderson is entering that same conversation with what already appears to be a ferocious, next-level turn. Even in a trailer overflowing with chaos and imagery, Anderson completely commands attention.

What makes the trailer for Jane Schoenbrun’s slasher so fascinating is the way it frames this as a deeply self-aware meta-slasher, one that pushes sexuality and desire directly into the foreground rather than treating them as disposable genre tropes. The reveal of the killer’s name, “Little Death,” is both darkly funny and loaded with meaning, referencing the French phrase la petite mort, a euphemism tied to orgasm and emotional release.
