Physical media label Severin Films just made my day, as they’ve announced they’re bringing ‘The Autopsy of Jane Doe’ to UHD for the first time
André Øvredal‘s The Autopsy of Jane Doe terrified me when it came out in 2016. The third feature from the filmmaker behind Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark and Troll Hunter, it’s my favorite film of his by far. So, you can imagine the excited scream I just shook my apartment building with when I learned that Severin Films is bringing the film to UHD for the first time as part of their summer sale!
Brian Cox (Manhunter) and Emile Hirsch (Speed Racer) play a father and son mortician team. Just as they’re about to close up for the night, the body of a Jane Doe arrives. Part of a murder case, the police want an autopsy immediately. But as the two cut into the woman’s body and a storm rages outside, they realize she may not be as dead as she looks.
The release from Severin is simply stunning. Not that that’s shocking. They always do great work. Check out the special features below, and get your copy when the summer sale begins on June 26th!
