The first official trailer for Key of Bones: Curse of the Ghost Pirate has been released, offering audiences a glimpse into a supernatural adventure filled with ghost pirates, cursed treasure, legendary mysteries, and the distinctive atmosphere of Key West.
Set against the backdrop of the Florida Keys, the film follows three unlikely heroes—a local waitress, a ghost-tour guide, and an unlucky tourist—who accidentally awaken a centuries-old pirate curse connected to the notorious pirate Anne Bonny. As supernatural chaos begins to spread across paradise, the trio must race against time to uncover the truth behind the curse before it consumes the island.
The newly released trailer offers a look at the film’s central villain: the ghostly Anne Bonny, who appears to be carving a bloody path through Key West in pursuit of her long-lost treasure. The character’s relentless hunt for her stolen gold gives off shades of the Leprechaun franchise, replacing the murderous Irish fairy with a vengeful pirate spirit determined to reclaim what’s hers.
Judging by the footage, Bonny isn’t your typical ghost story apparition. She’s presented as a hard-drinking, wisecracking, sword-wielding force of supernatural chaos – a badass drunk lesbian ghost pirate, if ever there was one. The trailer leans into that larger-than-life energy, positioning Anne Bonny as both a terrifying threat and one of the film’s most entertaining attractions.
