Sarah Michelle Gellar is set to play the killer role of the Grim Reaper alongside Rudy Pankow’s Devil in romantic comedy, ‘Thud’
In news I certainly didn’t expect to read today, Buffy herself, Sarah Michelle Gellar, and Rudy Pankow (Uncharted), are set to play the Grim Reaper and the Devil, respectively, in supernatural romantic comedy, Thud, reports Deadline.
The film “watches as the Grim Reaper and the Devil meet cute at a three-day destination wedding, falling in love after colliding at the event, where they’ve each come to sow their own chaos.”
Mali Elfman (Next Exit) is directing from a script by Noga Pnueli (Meet Cute).
Producers are Derek Bishé and David Grove Churchill Viste. Executive producers include none other than Radio Silence‘s Tyler Gillett and Matt Bettinelli-Olpin, as well as Helmstreet Productions’ Lindsay Helms and Joel Nevells, Divide/Conquer‘s Greg Gilreath and Adam Hendricks, Dan Lawler and Pnueli.
The move marks a reunion for Gellar with Radio Silence after appearing in their sequel, Ready or Not 2.
I, for one, think Gellar will be perfect as the Grim Reaper, and cannot wait to watch her cause chaos with Pankow’s Devil. With Radio Silence behind the film, expect this one to be wildly entertaining (at least, I hope so).
Thud is set to shoot in Los Angeles, California.
