Watch a Family Patriarch Rot Into a Deadite in New ‘Evil Dead Burn’ Footage

Holy shit. We’re only a few weeks away from Evil Dead Burn.

Warner Bros. spent Father’s Day reminding us that family is a nightmare in the latest clip from Sébastien Vaniček‘s upcoming entry in the Evil Dead franchise. The new promo, titled “Perfect Family,” focuses on Edgar (Erroll Shand), one of the members of the doomed family at the center of the film, and charts his gruesome transformation into a Deadite.

The footage unfolds almost like a twisted family photo album. Edgar sits at the dinner table, smiling through what appears to be a perfectly normal gathering. Then the infection begins to take hold. Each successive shot reveals more damage, more decay, and more of the demonic corruption that Evil Dead fans have come to love. By the end, he’s barely recognizable, a snarling Deadite hanging outside the house and taunting Alice (Souheila Yacoub) as the family reunion spirals into hell.

What continues to stand out about Evil Dead Burn is its commitment to the family dynamic. Evil Dead Rise weaponized motherhood. This one appears ready to weaponize the entire family tree.

Vaniček previously promised a “nasty film” that would leave audiences feeling tested, and everything we’ve seen so far suggests he wasn’t kidding.
