EXCLUSIVE: Dread Central has your first look at dATE, a pulp horror fairy tale marking the feature directorial debut of Mother’s Day and Leatherface screenwriter Scott Milam.
Starring Olivia Rose Keegan (Scary Movie 6) and Maddie Phillips (Gen V, Breeder), the film blends dark fantasy, horror, and twisted romance into a stylish and bloody tale of beauty, desire, and survival.
Keegan plays Lydia, a model with a dark secret to her beauty:
Model Lydia Carver (Keegan) is living her best life – glamorous fashion shoots by day and hitting the dating scene at night. There’s just one little catch: in order to keep her stunning looks, she must indulge her appetite…and there are only so many men.

Derek Mears, best known for portraying Jason Voorhees in the 2009 Friday the 13th and for his starring role in Swamp Thing, plays the film’s killer. He is featured in the image above with co-star Matt Visser (Woman of the Hour) in one of dATE‘s striking guillotine-set sequences.

Produced by Tara L. Craig (Shook) through The Squid Farm, alongside Meredith Riley Stewart, dATE recently completed post-production following a Los Angeles-area shoot, with festival and release plans to be announced.
Make-up effects are by Hugo Villasenor (Bone Tomahawk, Star Trek, Guardians of the Galaxy).
The film was shot in and around Los Angeles last summer and just completed post.
