Actor Chase Yi has just landed a lead role in the next installment of the hit found footage horror franchise, ‘Paranormal Activity’.
Chase Yi (pictured above in “Mythic Quest”) has landed a lead role in Blumhouse and Atomic Monster’s Paranormal Activity movie, reports Deadline.
The eighth film in the franchise that started with Oren Peli and his ultra-low-budget 2007 feature, we don’t have any plot details on the next Paranormal Activity at this time.
The untitled feature is produced by franchise newcomer James Wan (Saw, Insidious, The Conjuring) and directed by Ian Tuason (Undertone).
Blum will produce for his and Wan’s Blumhouse-Atomic Monster, while Oren Peli produces for his Solana Films. Paramount is co-producing and co-financing with Blumhouse-Atomic Monster.
Admittedly, I’m not all that familiar with Yi, who has appeared in various TV series such as “Mythic Quest”, “Hacks”, “WandaVision”, and “9-1-1”. Something tells me that’s about to change, though, with the actor landing a lead role in one of horror’s most popular modern franchises.
The next Paranormal Activitymovie has been set for a May 21, 2027, theatrical release.
