Diego Calva Signs Onto Parker Finn’s ‘Possession’ Remake
Parkin Finn’s ‘Possession’ remake continues to possess more cast members into joining, with Diego Calva now singing onto the project.

Parker Finn‘s (Smile) remake of the cult classic, Possession, continues to fill out its cast, as Diego Calva (pictured above in Babylon) has now joined the cast, reports Deadline.
Diego joins The Substance breakout Margaret Qualley, Callum Turner (Green Room, Victor Frankenstein), and Paul Dano (Prisoners).
The original pic follows a woman who begins exhibiting increasingly disturbing behavior after asking her husband for a divorce. Suspicions of infidelity soon give way to something much more sinister.
Banned upon its original release in 1981, Andrzej Żuławski’s film starred Isabelle Adjani and Sam Neill. Adjani won Best Actress at the Cannes Film Festival for her performance. To this day, it’s considered to be one of the greatest horror films ever made. It also happens to be one of my favorite films, period. What Zulawski accomplishes with Possession is nothing short of brilliant. And Adjani? That performance has only become more legendary over the years, with films like The First Omen recently riffing on it.
Character details on the new film are being kept secret. I recently speculated Dano would play the man that Adjani cheats on Neill with in the original. With Diego’s casting, I’m starting to think that may be his role, with Dano perhaps portraying the detective Neill hires to follow Adjani (why didn’t I think of that before? Ugh). That makes much more sense. Diego tends to play a man with charm but with perhaps a dark streak. He’s also appeared in genre films like Bird Box: Barcelona, and the upcoming Her Private Hell.
Robert Pattinson is producing via his production company Icki Eneo Arlo, along with Vertigo Entertainment’s Roy Lee (Weapons, Crystal Lake).
