A24 has Will Forte in talks to star in David Mikalson‘s film Goblin, reports Deadline.
Forte joins Skyler Gisondo and Kenneth Branagh, the latter of whom will provide the voice of the title character in the outrageous comedy.
Goblin is an R-rated puppet comedy from writer-director David Mikalson, a filmmaker who burst onto Hollywood’s radar after his script for the project sparked a bidding frenzy and landed at A24. Mikalson is a relative newcomer whose short films and proof-of-concept work helped generate industry buzz before the studio backed the feature, as first noted by Deadline.
The project has been described as a raunchy buddy comedy that blends practical puppet effects with live action, with some comparing its tone to Ted meets E.T. The goblin itself is reportedly being brought to life as a practical puppet rather than a CGI creation, which only makes the whole thing sound even weirder.
More casting incoming.
