NECA’s Stunning Shogun Horror Line Reimagines Ghost Face, Jason, and Leatherface as Feudal Japanese Warriors

One of the biggest collector surprises at San Diego Comic-Con wasn’t a sequel or movie announcement.

It was NECA unveiling Shogun Horror, an ambitious new action figure line that reimagines some of horror’s greatest icons as legendary warriors from feudal Japan.

Debuting at the show were three instantly recognizable killers: Ghost Face from Scream, Jason Voorhees from Friday the 13th, and Leatherface from The Texas Chain Saw Massacre, each transformed into beautifully detailed samurai-inspired warriors.

According to the display (shared by Eric Goldman), the new universe “fuses traditional Japanese folklore with horror cinema,” transporting modern horror icons into an alternate timeline filled with warlords, demons, assassins, and blood-soaked battlefields. Every character has been redesigned with historically inspired armor and authentic feudal-era weapons while preserving the instantly recognizable traits that made them horror legends.

Ghost Face Leads the Line

The first officially announced figure is Ghost Face, standing in 7-inch scale with extensive articulation and a tailored soft-goods cloak for dynamic posing.

The figure comes loaded with accessories, including two versions of his signature knife, a knife sheath, a katana with sheath, a bisento, interchangeable hands, and an alternate head. Somehow, Ghost Face’s iconic elongated mask translates perfectly into the aesthetic of feudal Japan, creating one of the most striking reinterpretations of the killer we’ve seen.
