Mike Flanagan may be about to bring the hammer down, as he’s in talks to EP Amazon MGM’s ‘Warhammer 40,000’ series starring Henry Cavill.
Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep) is set to bring the hammer down with a new series, as Deadline reports that the filmmaker is in talks to executive produce the Warhammer 40,000 TV show for Amazon MGM Studios.
An adaptation of the miniature fantasy game, Warhammer 40,000 is “set in the far future, where humanity stands at the edge of what might be its brightest future, or its darkest age. The threats to humankind’s empire are many: traitors driven by the fires of ambition, alien empires sworn to reclaim the stars, and the corruption of reality by malevolent gods.”
Henry Cavill (The Witcher) will star and executive produce.
Deadline notes that there’s a possibility Flanagan may also come on as showrunner.
Of course, Flanagan is no stranger to acting as showrunner. The filmmaker has been behind multiple series, such as The Fall of the House of Usher, Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Bly Manor, The Midnight Club and The Haunting of Hill House.
Up next, Flanagan will deliver a series based on Stephen King’s Carrie on October 7th via Prime Video.
