Rosamund Pike Eyed to Join Ryan Gosling in Marvel’s ‘Ghost Rider’ Movie

Last weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con delivered one of the convention’s biggest surprises when Marvel Studios officially announced that Ryan Gosling will lead its long-awaited Ghost Rider movie, with Shawn Levy (Deadpool & Wolverine) directing the supernatural blockbuster.

Now, it sounds like the project is already moving further into the casting process.

According to TheInSneider‘s Jeff Sneider, Rosamund Pike (Gone Girl, The Wheel of Time) is in talks to join the film as the female lead and romantic interest opposite Gosling.

Interestingly, we still don’t know one major detail: which Ghost Rider Gosling is actually playing.

Marvel confirmed Gosling is joining the MCU as Ghost Rider, but neither Kevin Feige nor the actor revealed whether he’ll portray the classic Johnny Blaze, Danny Ketch, Robbie Reyes, or another incarnation of the Spirit of Vengeance. That mystery remains one of the project’s biggest unanswered questions.

If you’ve been following Dread Central, none of this comes completely out of left field. Earlier this year, we reported on Gosling’s own comments acknowledging conversations with Marvel after years of publicly campaigning to play Ghost Rider. Those rumors culminated in one of Comic-Con’s biggest moments when Kevin Feige brought Gosling onstage during Marvel Studios’ Hall H presentation to officially announce the actor as in the MCU.

Levy is attached to direct the film following the massive success of Deadpool & Wolverine, with Ghost Rider currently slated to hit theaters in 2028.
