There’s something about the trailer that immediately reminds me of the glorious era of Sega Saturn and early CD-ROM games, when developers suddenly had all this extra storage and decided the future was cramming actual movies into video games. Except here, the juxtaposition appears completely intentional. You’re comfortable inside this old-school pixelated horror game and then suddenly you’re staring at something that looks like it escaped from a low-budget practical-effects horror movie.
The official description promises that players will “struggle to survive” while solving puzzles and fighting creatures, but also teases that the game’s real secrets are hidden inside those live-action cinematics.
Tenebris Somnia arrives October 16, 2026, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC. Here’s the Steam pre-order link.
You seriously need to see this trailer.
