You HAVE to See This Old-School Horror Game’s Insane Live-Action Cutscenes

Every once in a while, a horror game comes along with a hook so fucking cool that you immediately need to see more. Tenebris Somnia is one of those games.

Developed by Andrés Borghi and Saibot Studios and published by New Blood Interactive, Tenebris Somnia is a survival horror adventure that takes the basic DNA of classics like Silent Hill and Resident Evil and crams it into a retro 2D world inspired by the 8 and 16-bit eras. You’ll explore, solve puzzles, and fight some seriously horrible creatures.

But that’s not the part that has me excited.

As you progress through the game, Tenebris Somnia suddenly abandons its pixel-art aesthetic for full-blown live-action cinematics featuring real actors and practical monster effects, created by a professional film crew in Argentina!!

And holy shit, does it work.
