What’s your favorite scary soda?
It looks like Ghost Face is coming for your refrigerator this Halloween with a brand new Scream-inspired Fanta flavor appropriately called Ghost Face Punch.
While Coca-Cola and Fanta have yet to formally announce the collaboration in the United States, evidence of the new flavor has started popping up in retail listings, and we’ve been able to independently verify that Fanta Ghost Face Punch is very much a real product.
Here in the United States, retail listings point to a berry-flavored Ghost Face Punch being sold in 12-packs of cans, while additional reports indicate 20-ounce bottles are also planned.
An August 24 release date has been circulating through preorder listings, although we haven’t been able to confirm that date directly with Coca-Cola, so keep that one penciled in for now.
The collaboration would continue Fanta’s recent love affair with horror. Last Halloween, the company officially partnered with Universal Pictures and Blumhouse for a massive campaign featuring Chucky, Michael Myers, The Grabber, Freddy Fazbear, and other horror characters across limited-edition packaging, including Chucky’s own fruit punch flavor.
And Ghost Face apparently isn’t thirsty for soda alone this Halloween. Angry Orchard also has a Scream collaboration on the way, meaning our favorite Woodsboro slasher is quickly assembling his own little horror beverage aisle.
We’ll update you as soon as Fanta makes Ghost Face Punch official in the United States, but for now, it certainly looks like you’ll be able to answer the phone, put on a scary movie, and crack open a can of Ghost Face this Halloween.
