Per The Hollywood Reporter, Hayden Panettiere, the actress known to horror fans for playing Kirby Reed in Scream 4 and returning to the role in Scream VI, has died at the age of 36.

“It is with profound sadness that we share the tragic passing of our beloved Hayden,” her representative told ABC News. “She was an incredible light and a force of nature who brought immeasurable love and joy to all who knew her — and to the millions who watched her onscreen.”

Beyond the Scream franchise, Panettiere was widely known for her starring roles in Heroes and Nashville.
