Some terrible news for all you arachnophobes out there (me): the red band trailer for Crawlers has arrived, and I fucking hate it.
I mean that as a compliment.
Just the opening scene is enough to give me nightmares and make it difficult to sleep tonight. The spiders look hyper-realistic, and things only get increasingly cuckoo bananas from there.
I’ll admit that I skipped through parts of the trailer because I simply cannot deal with spiders. But everything I did see looks like completely over-the-top spider horror played with a surprisingly deadpan, serious face.
It kind of looks awesome.
If you’re afraid of spiders, do NOT watch this hyper-realistic red band trailer for 'CRAWLERS.'
Directed by Angel Gómez Hernández, Crawlers stars Matilda Lutz (Revenge) as Serena, the manager of an apartment complex where a mysterious death initially appears connected to a viral outbreak. Instead, the building is being overrun by a rapidly multiplying infestation of venomous spiders.
The residents become trapped inside under quarantine, leaving Serena to navigate the building and somehow keep everyone alive while confronting her own fear of spiders.
Roadside Attractions and Saban Films are releasing the film, with Roadside previously calling it a “viciously entertaining thrill ride, as fun as it is terrifying.”
