TOHO and GKIDS have released a new behind-the-scenes clip for Godzilla Minus Zero, while also announcing that it’s the first-ever Japanese production to be Filmed For IMAX!
The highly anticipated film from director Takashi Yamazaki will make its world premiere at the Spotlight Gala selection for the 64th New York Film Festival on Saturday, September 26, make its theatrical debut domestically in Japan on Tuesday, November 3, and launch a wide theatrical release across North America beginning Friday, November 6.
Following the triumphant 2023 release of Toho’s Godzilla Minus One, which boasted ingenious, Oscar-winning visual effects and an emotionally gripping back-to-basics storytelling approach, director Takashi Yamazaki returns with a supremely satisfying sequel. Godzilla Minus Zero picks up in 1949, two years after the tumultuous events of Godzilla Minus One, and continues the story of the Shikishima family as they face an all-new calamity. An experience that demands the big screen, featuring more astounding effects choreography than its predecessor, Godzilla Minus Zero cranks up the terror while always keeping its post-WWII Japan narrative at human eye level.
