FX is finally starting to pull back the curtain on American Horror Story: 13, revealing all 13 episode titles, the first batch of official synopses and two brand-new pieces of key art ahead of this month’s premiere.
And there’s quite a bit to unpack here.
As we’ve previously reported here on Dread Central, American Horror Story: 13 premieres Thursday, September 24 at 9 p.m. ET on FX and Hulu, kicking off a rather perfect 13-episode season. The first two weeks will each drop three episodes, followed by two episodes every Thursday through the finale on October 29, just in time for Halloween.
The season is essentially shaping up to be the Avengers: Endgame of American Horror Story. Ryan Murphy previously described it as “like the Avengers,” with characters and mythology from across the franchise colliding in one massive story.
That includes the return of Jessica Lange as Constance Langdon, Sarah Paulson as Cordelia Goode, Angela Bassett as Marie Laveau, Emma Roberts as Madison Montgomery, Evan Peters as Kai Anderson and John Carroll Lynch as Twisty the Clown, along with Rubber Man and plenty more surprises.
The ridiculously stacked cast also includes Kathy Bates, Billie Lourd, Gabourey Sidibe, Leslie Grossman, Ariana Grande, Joey Pollari, Paul Anthony Kelly, Jamie Brewer, Frances Conroy, Mena Suvari, John Waters, Tig Notaro, Madelaine Petsch, Mat Fraser, Seth Gabel, Orlando Jones and more.
Now we have our first actual idea of where this whole thing begins.
The September 24 premiere consists of three episodes:
- Episode 1 – “13”
“After a near-death experience, Ben provides hospice care for a mysterious client in an eerie penthouse.” Written by Ryan Murphy and Brad Falchuk, and directed by Murphy.
