Hammer Films is heading into the frozen Canadian wilderness with Ithaqua, a survival horror film starring Luke Hemsworth (Westworld), Kevin Durand (Abigail), and Michael Pitt (Funny Games).
The trailer introduces a remote 1800s fur-trading outpost threatened by an ancient evil with a hunger for human flesh.
In the film, American mercenary Cole Franklin is sent to investigate why a nearby Indigenous settlement has gone silent. What he finds suggests something ancient is still lurking in the wilderness. Back at Fort William, dwindling supplies and mounting paranoia turn the community against itself, leaving Cole to lead a group of survivors through a threat his military experience can’t fully prepare him for.
Casey Walker, a producer of The Void and executive producer of In a Violent Nature, directs. Craig Lauzon (Trickster) and Leenah Robinson (1923) also star.
The Hammer connection is a story in itself. The legendary British company behind Dracula, The Curse of Frankenstein, and The Mummy is championing films through Hammer Presents, a curated horror label. Ithaqua brings that name into a setting where the landscape is already trying to kill everyone before anything supernatural shows up.
Hammer Films is bringing the film to UK audiences through its Hammer Presents label, with a full UK release planned for early 2027.
Before that, Ithaqua makes its US premiere at Beyond Fest on September 27, screening at the Los Feliz 3.
