Mike Flanagan is set to produce the body horror film ‘Rot’, featuring a loaded cast of Cooper Koch, Amber Midthunder and Matthew Lillard!
Cooper Koch (pictured above in Swallowed) is set to star in Rot, a body-horror film produced by none other than Mike Flanagan (Doctor Sleep), reports Deadline.
Also starring are Amber Midthunder (Prey) and Matthew Lillard (Scream). Both are set to appear in Flanagan’s upcoming series based on Stephen King’s novel, Carrie.
That is an excellent cast for what sounds like an intriguing psychological horror concept loaded with body horror potential.
We don’t yet have an official logline for the film, but the outlet notes the film is based on a 2024 Black List script by Geo Bradley and is described by the scribe as “Repulsion by way of Cronenberg.”
According to the Black List synopsis, the story “follows an antisocial man suffering from obsessive compulsions who is haunted by the death of his hoarder mother. The man takes on work as a trauma cleaner in hopes of facing his past, but the job soon begins to infest and unravel his mental state.”
The film hails from Alexandra Magistro, an exec at Mike Flanagan‘s Red Room Pictures. Rot marks her debut feature.
Flanagan is of course producing under his Red Room Banner, along with Molly C. Quinn, Matthew M. Welty and Elan Gale of QWGmire.
Production on Rot is set to begin in Vancouver this November.
