First Look at ‘Black Sheeps’; Sequel to World Premiere at Sitges

Twenty years after Black Sheep, Jonathan King is returning to genetically modified animal horror with Black Sheeps, which will have its world premiere at the Sitges Film Festival this October.

The sequel heads back to New Zealand for another round of bloody sheep mayhem, with King revisiting the world of his 2006 horror comedy.

This time, a young scientist investigating a dangerous new pathogen traces it to her hometown, which sits in the shadow of the remote sheep station where the original film’s carnage unfolded. Genetically modified sheep are once again a very bad thing for everyone nearby.

Nathan Meister (Black Sheep) is listed among the cast, with the sequel also reuniting key members of the original production team.

The filmmakers previously announced that production had wrapped following a five-week shoot, describing the experience as a “gory and hilarious ride.”

Black Sheeps joins the lineup for the 59th edition of Sitges. The team is also teasing a theatrical release, although a specific date hasn’t been announced.
