Here’s Linda Cardellini Wearing Pamela Voorhees’ Famous ‘Friday the 13th’ Sweatshirt in ‘Crystal Lake’!

A new image from Emmy Magazine reveals Linda Cardellini (The Curse of La Llorona) wearing Pamela Voorhees’ iconic blue sweater in Peacock’s upcoming Crystal Lake.

The page was shared by Crystal Lake costume designer Cristina Spiridakis, who thanked the magazine for spotlighting the show’s costumes and offered a closer look at the work that went into recreating Pamela’s unmistakable appearance.

The accompanying caption confirms that Spiridakis put Cardellini in the same style of blue cable-knit sweater worn by Betsy Palmer (Friday the 13th) in Sean S. Cunningham’s original Friday the 13th from 1980 as a direct nod to fans.

“It’s important that Pam is hiding in plain sight,” Spiridakis told Emmy Magazine about the character’s broader wardrobe. “So, we keep her in a color story of maroons, browns, mustards and rich eggplant along with grounded silhouettes. It plays against everything spiraling around her in a beautiful way.”

The big takeaway, however, is that Pamela apparently had her famous sweater well before she slaughtered the counselors of Camp Crystal Lake.

As we know, Crystal Lake begins nearly a year after the drowning of young Jason Voorhees, with Pamela unable to escape the grief surrounding her son’s death. The prequel series is expected to bridge the gap between Jason’s drowning and Pamela’s killing spree in the original film, which would eventually set the stage for the adult, sack-headed Jason introduced in Friday the 13th Part 2.

Sure, the sweater could simply be an Easter egg. But who wears the same exact outfit for years?

This image adds fuel to a theory I’ve had since seeing the full trailer: I truly believe the first season is going to culminate with its finale essentially remaking the events of Cunningham’s original Friday the 13th.

The series has already revised the franchise’s timeline, and the trailer appears to be building toward Pamela’s complete psychological collapse. Bringing out her famous sweater this early could be simple foreshadowing, but it could also come from a scene set much later in the season, when Pamela finally arrives at Camp Crystal Lake and starts killing counselors.
