Shudder has released the trailer for Hallowarrior, a post-apocalyptic Halloween nightmare starring Milly Shapiro (Hereditary), and this looks like the perfect mid-October treat to start counting down to Halloween.
Premiering October 16 on Shudder, the film follows Pumpkin, a Halloween-obsessed survivor who believes she’s the last person on Earth. Desperate for companionship, she gets more than she bargained for when a vicious group of scavengers arrives at her doorstep.
The trailer is all tricks and treats, setting up a home-invasion nightmare with cool costumes, the promise of gore, and Shapiro fighting to survive her favorite holiday. There’s a whole lot of Halloween atmosphere packed into this one, and I can’t wait to see it.
Ben Sottak wrote and directed Hallowarrior, which also stars Ajani Russell (Skate Kitchen), AJ Bowen (The Signal, A Horrible Way to Die), and Shannyn Sossamon (Sinister 2, One Missed Call).
“This is a throwback to the crowd-pleasing genre films I grew up watching every Halloween,” Sottak previously said. “The movie is dripping with nostalgic fall atmosphere, cheer-inducing kills, and a lovable ‘final girl’ played by the brilliant Milly Shapiro.”
