Dread Central is hearing that Jonathan Tison (Murder Calls) plays the teenage version of Jason Voorhees in Crystal Lake, Peacock and A24’s upcoming Friday the 13th prequel series.
Tison’s Actors Access résumé lists a co-starring role in an untitled A24 television production. The listing doesn’t identify his character or name Crystal Lake, so it isn’t an official casting announcement, but it’s an interesting detail alongside what we’ve learned.
If you’ve been following our coverage, the presence of an older Jason shouldn’t come as a complete surprise. We previously reported that the series was looking beyond his childhood incarnation, and the trailers have since given us plenty to dissect.
Callum Vinson (Chucky) plays young Jason, the role first portrayed by Ari Lehman in the original Friday the 13th. But that brief shot of an older, sack-masked Jason charging through the forest suggests we’re getting much closer to the killer we know from Friday the 13th Part 2.
