Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl Return in ‘Monstervision’ Comic from Dynamite!

It feels like the end of an era with The Last Drive-In ending its glorious run on Shudder this year. Countless horror fans have gathered to watch marathons of horror movies with hosts Joe Bob Briggs and Darcy the Mail Girl, sharing in community and fun as they live-post reactions to the films on socials. I still remember the night that Briggs returned with The Last Drive-In, a “sequel”, so to speak, of his long-running Monstervision series. I’ll never forget the joy I and others felt that night.

Yes, losing The Last Drive-In will be hard for many. But it isn’t the end of the adventures of Briggs or Darcy. That’s because Dynamite has announced a Monstervision comic series featuring the beloved stars!

Written by David Avallone (Elvira) with art by Edu Menna (Vampirella), the new series will feature Briggs and Darcy as they hunt down monsters and have a killer time doing it.

Here’s the official synopsis: Join Joe Bob – joined by Darcy – on an outrageous deep-fried adventure as the pair go monster hunting in the true spirit of the Drive-In!

For those still unaware of Joe Bob Briggs, he’s a film critic, writer, actor, comic performer, and horror host. He hosted Joe Bob’s Drive-in Theater on The Movie Channel from 1986 to 1996, the TNT series MonsterVision from 1996 to 2000, and The Last Drive-in with Joe Bob Briggs on Shudder beginning in 2018. He’s up there with Elvira as one of the greatest horror hosts of all time.

The Drive-In will never die. And Dynamite is making sure of that.
