‘Five Nights at Freddy’s’ Is Finally Coming to ‘Fortnite’ This October! [Trailer]

Freddy Fazbear and friends are officially invading Fortnite.

Epic Games dropped the announcement trailer this morning, revealing that Five Nights at Freddy’s joins the game on October 1 as part of this year’s Fortnitemares celebration. After years of speculation, the crossover is finally happening.

The announcement post had already racked up a record-breaking 14 million views on X when I checked. Whatever you think of the movies—and I think they’re terrible—there’s no denying how enormous this franchise remains. Getting its killer animatronics inside Fortnite looks like it’s going to be a blast.

And this goes beyond dressing up as Freddy.

According to Insider Gaming, the reveal brings Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza into the mix, with Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy taking over Battle Royale as animatronic bosses. Epic’s accompanying description challenges players to face them and survive the night. So, yes, that nightmare pizzeria is part of the action.

As for characters and cosmetics, HYPEX’s breakdown, also covered by Insider Gaming, reports the following:

• Freddy, Bonnie, Chica, and Foxy skins, with damaged “Withered” alternate styles.
• Freddy-themed Kicks and character-themed Back Bling.
• Instrument cosmetics for the band.
• Emotes, although specific names and dances haven’t been detailed.

HYPEX also reports that players will be able to transform into the animatronic bosses and hunt other players. Epic hasn’t published a complete rundown of the cosmetics, prices, or shop schedule yet, so there are still details to come.

The footage has also prompted speculation about a dedicated night-shift experience inside the pizzeria, but Insider Gaming notes that a separate Five Nights at Freddy’s mode hasn’t been confirmed.
