Madeleine Arthur and Dianne Doan to Star In Psychological Horror Film ‘Doula’

The pregnancy horror train continues to roll for obvious reasons. Just this year, we’ve seen films like Nightborn and Goody Goody be born, with more to come. Now, Deadline reports that Madeleine Arthur (pictured above in Color Out of Space) and Dianne Doan (Agents of Shield) are set to star in the Canadian-US psychological horror movie Doula.

Here’s the synopsis: “Inspired by strange true events, a doula (Doan) arrives at an isolated mountain cabin to help with a difficult delivery, only to become trapped alongside her pregnant client (Arthur) in a sadistic, reality-bending game where escape may come at a terrible price.”

Isolated cat-and-mouse game at a cabin involving a pregnant woman? Yeah, this sounds fun.

Goldie Jones wrote and directed the film.

Producers are James J Yi, alongside Alice Teufack, Judd Tilyard and Verity Fiction. Executive producers are
Andrea Chung with Carvel Rock Pictures along with Kristine Estorninos.

What really has me curious here is Arthur’s involvement. She’s fantastic in Color Out of Space. In that cosmic horror film, she plays an entrancing presence who demands your attention every second she’s on screen. I can’t wait to see her in what sounds like a sinister role.
