Hammer’s John Gore has revealed that he has plans to resurrect more of the studio’s horror classics in one way or another.

Now, it sounds like you shouldn’t expect Dracula to be the last Hammer film that current owner John Gore plans to resurrect in some fashion.
Gore recently sat down with Variety and told the outlet that his goal is to see the brand return from the dead with bloodthirsty life (not quite in those words, mind you).
During the discussion, he mentioned the classic Hammer titles and what could be done as far as remakes go. “It’s very hard to contemplate how we would just do a straight remake of something that is a classic,” said Gore. “
Added Gore, “The Cushing Frankenstein has never been redone — where Frankenstein is evil. In most films, Frankenstein is a tortured scientist but the evil Frankenstein is something I’d like to look at.”
After listing off other potential titles to look at, such as Countess Dracula and The Devil Rides Out, Gore says, “I feel great responsibility in bringing this stuff back.”
Whatever Hammer does next, we can rest assured that the studio is in good hands with Gore. Based on the interview, he has a clear passion for Hammer and its bevy of horror classics that are begging to be resurrected. Expect more of them to return from the grave soon.
Up next from the studio is Ithaqua, which Gore describes as “Hammer’s first new monster.” It will release in the UK sometime during early 2027. You can read my review from Beyond Fest here.
Hammer lives, and we couldn’t be more thrilled here at Dread.
