We’ve already seen the bloody opening scene from Peacock’s Crystal Lake. Now, another clip takes us back to the water where the nightmare began.
With all eight episodes arriving October 15, Peacock has shared a quieter moment from the Friday the 13th prequel, featuring Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees, looking out over the lake where Jason drowned. Almost a year has passed, but she remains convinced her son is still alive.
“It’s been almost a year,” says Lee, played by Abigail‘s William Catlett, the town’s police chief, Levon.
“He is here, Lee. I feel it,” Pamela replies.
She insists that she and Jason are “joined at the heart.”
It’s a very different glimpse of Pamela from that opening scene, which found her covered in blood and pulling glass from her knuckles. Here, we’re watching a mother who can still feel her connection to her son… and refuses to believe it’s been broken.

From A24 and creator, writer, and showrunner Brad Caleb Kane, Crystal Lake explores the events following Jason’s drowning, before the original 1980 Friday the 13th. When two strangers arrive at Pamela’s door asking questions about her past, a disturbing chain of events leaves the community wondering who Pamela Voorhees really is.
Callum Vinson plays young Jason, with Devin Kessler, Cameron Scoggins, and Gwendolyn Sundstrom also starring.
For now, take another trip down to the lake. Pamela’s certain her boy is still out there.
