An entire village is coming to life in Hunter’s Moon, and you’re the woman they’re hunting.
Twin Swans has revealed the voice cast for its first-person folk-horror game, with 48 actors taking on more than 100 roles in a story that unfolds over one terrifying night.
Hannah Morley (Apartment 7A) leads as Lilith Thorne, an accused “witch” trying to escape with her life, opposite Gregg Lowe (Crimson Desert) as the Witchfinder General. Anthony Howell (Silent Hill: Townfall) and Joe Pitts (Lies of P) also star, voicing Anthony Talbot and John Purdy, respectively.
Inspired by the history of English witch hunts, Hunter’s Moon sends players through a 17th-century village and its surrounding wilderness, where staying out of sight is essential. Eavesdropping on the people around you can uncover information that helps you survive. Of course, those same neighbors might believe you deserve to hang.
Writer-director Alicia Contestabile, a producer on The Stanley Parable: Ultra Deluxe, describes the approach as a form of interactive theatre.
“I wanted to create an interactive theatre, set in this era of magical thinking, and immerse the player in the perspective of an accused woman,” Contestabile explains. “Exploring how these beliefs could drive a community to enact such cruelty, the player can experience what it might feel like to face these accusations, from family, friends, and neighbours, and know that your life is at risk.”
The team includes developers and artists whose credits span The Dark Pictures Anthology: Little Hope, The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, and Signalis, with an original score by Resina.
Hunter’s Moon launches exclusively on PS5 this Halloween season. While today’s announcement lists October 26, the studio’s official release information specifies October 25 in North America and October 26 in other regions. You can .
