I watched the first season and thought it was great, but I haven’t kept up. The new teaser certainly makes it look like a whole lot of violence and chaos ensued out in the wilderness, Lord of the Flies style, while adding to the mystery of what happened.
And, hilariously, the teaser itself also features an Alanis Morissette song. They’re keeping that connection going.
According to the official season description, the Yellowjackets race to hide their sins before rescue arrives, while the Wilderness has its own ideas about who survives. Back in Wiskayok, their secrets follow them home as they confront what they’ve done and who they’ve become. In the present, two survivors prepare to kill one of their own as an old flame returns with an agenda.
So much for a happy homecoming.
Created by Ashley Lyle and Bart Nickerson, Yellowjackets follows a high-school girls’ soccer team stranded after a plane crash in the remote northern wilderness, alongside the lives of the survivors nearly 25 years later.
The final season’s ensemble includes Melanie Lynskey (Castle Rock), Christina Ricci (The Addams Family), Tawny Cypress, Sophie Nélisse (The Book Thief), Jasmin Savoy Brown (Scream VI), Sophie Thatcher (Heretic), Samantha Hanratty, Courtney Eaton (Mad Max: Fury Road), Liv Hewson (Santa Clarita Diet), and Hilary Swank (The Hunt).
