Hunter Schafer (Cuckoo, Euphoria) has revealed what’s lurking inside Arkasha Stevenson’s mysterious new A24 horror movie: vampires. And apparently, things get pretty fucking wild.
Speaking at the Academy Museum Gala, Schafer was asked which horror franchise she’d like to enter. Instead, she offered a tease of something she’s already filmed.
“Earlier this year I just did a vampire movie. I’m so excited about it. It might be my favorite thing I’ve ever filmed,” Schafer said.
Asked why, she explained, “Because it is batshit crazy. Me and my fellow actresses also got to act in sort of this batshit crazy way.”
That would be the still untitled project from The First Omen director Stevenson, which reportedly follows a bachelor party that spirals into terror. As we reported back in April, filming has already wrapped. Now we have a much better idea of what might be crashing that party.
Whether Schafer herself plays a vampire remains a secret. When the interviewer asked, she stopped short of confirming it.
“I wonder if I’m allowed to say that. I don’t know if I’m allowed to say it because there’s literally, like, nothing. Right now on IMDb it’s called Untitled A24 Project. So I fear—I don’t know if I can give anything away.”
She added, “I don’t want to get in trouble either, but I, like, would tell you everything about it.”
The cast is loaded with familiar faces for horror fans. Joining Schafer are Emma Corrin (Nosferatu), Havana Rose Liu (), (), (), (), and ().
