Circle City Ghostbusters has created a hilarious live-action tribute to the Peoplebusters from The Real Ghostbusters, bringing the team’s monstrous counterparts to life in a spoof commercial. It looks really cool, and it’s a super fun pull from the cartoon’s wonderfully weird mythology.
For those who need a refresher, the episode “Flip Side” sends the Ghostbusters into an alternate dimension called Boo York, where ghosts inhabit the city, and living people are the unwanted visitors. Naturally, that world has its own exterminators: ghostly versions of Peter Venkman, Egon Spengler, and Ray Stantz.
Circle City Ghostbusters builds its tribute around an experiment involving Slimer and some old television rabbit ears. His interference allows Professor Farnsworth and Dr. Bartlett to pick up an interdimensional broadcast, including a commercial advertising the Peoplebusters’ human hunting services. Their names? Peter Deman, Egon Cadaver, and Ray Stifz.
