‘Haunted Hotel’ Season 2 Opens With a Hilarious Nod to ‘Hellraiser’

Netflix’s Haunted Hotel wastes absolutely no time getting into the horror references this season, opening with a funny little nod to Clive Barker’s Hellraiser.

Esther, voiced by Natalie Palamides (The Powerpuff Girls), has to solve a puzzle box to send a demon with nails sticking out of his head back to Hell. Meanwhile, Abaddon, the little boy demon who looks like Stewie from Family Guy, keeps trying to become friends with him. Naturally, getting rid of this thing and making it feel welcome are two very different priorities.

It’s a fun way to kick off the new season, with all eight episodes now streaming on Netflix. Apparently, even a Pinhead lookalike has to deal with somebody who just wants to hang out.

Created by Matt Roller (Rick and Morty), Haunted Hotel follows a single mother trying to run the Undervale hotel with help from her two kids, her ghost brother, and Abaddon, a demon trapped in a little boy’s body, voiced by Jimmi Simpson (Zodiac).
