According to Daniel Richtman, Story Kitchen is developing a film adaptation of MADiSON, the horror game that turns an instant camera into your connection to something very, very wrong.
Released in 2022 by Bloodious Games, the first-person psychological horror game follows Luca, who wakes up locked in a room with blood on his hands. A demon forces him to continue a gruesome ritual started decades earlier.
The big hook is the camera. Players take and develop photographs to uncover clues, solve puzzles, and interact with the supernatural while exploring dark rooms and increasingly disturbing surroundings. There’s plenty of potential for a movie in the simple act of waiting to see what develops.
In our review, Justin Wood criticized some of the puzzle-solving but praised the atmosphere and scares, calling it “easily the scariest game I’ve played this year.”
The adaptation has not been officially announced, and Richtman’s report doesn’t include a director, cast, or release date.
