Who better to teach us the rules of Halloween than Sam?
Sam: The Soul of Halloween has released the first installment in a three-part series featuring Sam and his friend Pumpums, a talking pumpkin, offering lessons on staying safe during the holiday. Given Sam’s history with people who don’t follow the rules, I’d pay attention.
Mike Baird directs, with Michael Dougherty (Trick ’r Treat, Krampus), Evan Gorski, and Curtis Waugh executive producing.
It’s the latest addition to a month of shorts and artist collaborations celebrating 30 years since Sam first appeared in Season’s Greetings. Dougherty has been letting different filmmakers play in Sam’s world, giving us plenty to watch throughout October. If you missed yesterday’s batch, our latest roundup has three more videos, including Trent Shy’s Sam’s Harvest, in which discarded pumpkins fight back.
Watch the first installment below. We’ll update this article with the remaining two as they arrive, so you can find all three in one place.
