She decides who lives and who dies. Soon, she’ll slither into your own home.
Lionsgate has announced that Mike P. Nelson‘s (Silent Night, Deadly Night remake) giant snake movie, Beware Boiúna, arrives on Blu-ray/DVD and Digital December 15th!
The film follows a medical mission into the Amazon that becomes a fight for survival when an enormous ancient predator reclaims her territory. Jessica Rothe (Happy Death Day), Kiana Madeira (Fear Street), and Logan Marshall-Green (Upgrade) star, with Nelson directing following Wrong Turn and Silent Night, Deadly Night.
In my review of the film, I gave it 3.5 out of 5 in my Fantastic Fest review, calling it “the meanest, bloodiest, scariest giant snake film to ever slither onto screens.” Sure, I had issues with the pacing and supporting characters, but I loved how genuinely frightening Nelson makes the creature.
Months later, I stand by those words. Beware Boiúna has taken the title of meanest giant snake movie there is.
Special Features on the disc include:
- Audio Commentary with Director Mike P. Nelson
- Making Beware Boiúna
- Journey Through the Jungle: Shooting on Location
- Deleted Scenes
- Theatrical Trailer
Give the snake lover in your life the gift of Beware Boiúna this December.
