Jonathan Rhys Meyers, who a decade ago starred as Dracula for NBC and Sky, is returning to the genre for new movie Pretty Kill Machine, reports Deadline ahead of the forthcoming AFM.
Set in and around Joshua Tree, California, the film “follows Vee, a supernatural being who has walked the earth since before recorded history. A vampire “in the vulgate,” she prefers to think of herself as simply “a day drinker” – drifting between an elegant hotel bar and a mirrored, glass-walled lair in the desert, feeding on blood and, more dangerously, on souls. Her centuries-long existence is thrown into crisis when she falls in love for the first time, a development that threatens to end her eternal reign for good.”
The Tudors and Vikings star Rhys Meyers will play the man Vee falls in love with.
The film is being adapted and directed by Matthew Wilder (Your Name Here).
Pic is being produced by David Hillary (Bill & Ted Face the Music) and Yariv Lerner (The Expendables), who also serves as CEO of Nu Boyana Studios, one of Quantify’s founding partners.
