Stephen King famously once said, “I have seen the future of horror fiction, and his name is Clive Barker.” That future was realized when Barker brought his transgressive writing to the big screen in Hellraiser.

For the first time in 37 years, the 1987 horror classic is returning to theaters on February 5 and 6 via Fathom Events.

Newly remastered in 4K, the movie will be accompanied by “Under the Skin: Doug Bradley on Hellraiser,” a 2004 interview with the actor about his first appearance as the horror icon Pinhead.

Hellraiser sees a couple move into their new home, unaware that something evil lurks beneath the floorboards of the dilapidated house something that wants human blood.

Based on Barker’s novella The Hellbound Heart, the film stars Andrew Robinson, Clare Higgins, Ashley Laurence, Sean Chapman, Oliver Smith, and Bradley.

Hellraiser spawned nine sequels the first seven of which featured Bradley reprising his role as Pinhead before being rebooted by David Bruckner for Hulu in 2022.
